Gary Diamond

Gary Diamond is the President of Educan Consultants, an educational consulting
company that he established to provide a wide range of support services to international
schools. Prior to launching Educan, Gary was an Education Officer with the Ontario
Ministry of Education, where he was responsible for the inspection of overseas schools as
well as Ontario’s private schools.

Gary graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
History. He also holds a graduate degree in History and a Bachelor of Education degree
from the University of Toronto. Gary has earned a Specialist’s Certificate in History, and
has completed Ontario’s Supervisory Officer’s Qualification Program and the Principal’s
Qualifications Program.

Gary has had many years of experience as a secondary school teacher, department head,
and principal. He has also been a sessional lecturer for the Principal’s Qualifications
Program in Ontario. As a former Supervisory Officer, Gary is well acquainted with the
issues that face international schools and has served on a number of Advisory Boards for
international schools.

Gary has consulted on the opening of international schools in Hong Kong, Singapore,
India, and Mongolia and has served as an educational consultant for the Canadian
International Development Agency. He has been a guest speaker at numerous workshops
for international and private schools, and is regularly consulted on matters of school law,
teacher contracts, and performance appraisal systems for teachers. He was a contributor
to Orbit, an education periodical published by the Ontario Institute for Studies in
Education and the University of Toronto.
